Andiamo Italian Ristorante opened its second location, this time on Weir Drive in the Woodbury suburb. After 30 years of working for others, from Two Guys from Italy to Buca di Beppo, Chef Ramon Ruiz opened his first community kitchen in Eagan. Dine-in and takeout hours are Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Karyn Tomlinson, the Queen of Porc and the closing chef at Corner Table, has opened a new takeout restaurant, Karyn’s Quarantine Kitchen, inside the former Bar Brigade location on Cleveland Avenue in St. Paul. The quarantine kitchen, named after the videos she posted on her Instagram page, will do takeout for now, with plans to open her restaurant, Myriel, later.
Fruit and Grain, a “home-based bakery with big dreams,” according to its Facebook page, has moved into the commercial kitchen inside Northern Coffeeworks on Washington Avenue South in downtown Minneapolis. The baker specializes in home-made pop tarts, pies and cakes that are tree-nut and peanut free.
Another eatery inside a beverage location will be Breizh Creperie which will be going inside Minneapolis Cider Co on Southeast Ninth Street.
Local chain, Hamburguesas El Gordo, has opened its third unit in the former Tori Ramen spot on North Victoria Street, just off of Selby Avenue. Mexican-style burgers, tacos and other Mexican mainstays can be ordered for pick-up seven days a week.
Big Fluff has moved from pop-up status at Keg and Case to full-time status, as Brian Ingram opens his third post-Covid restaurant offering, with a fourth one in the works, Cantina Market. Big Fluff sells gourmet hot chocolate, cotton candy and has a set up for guests to roast their own marshmallows for s’mores.
St. Croix Baking Co., with chef/owner Charles Froke, has taken over the spot vacated by Foxtone Music & Schuster Music store, next door to the San Pedro Café in Hudson, Wisconsin. Froke, who has honed his craft while traveling the world and whose rèsumè includes cooking for royalty and the rich and famous, according to the Pioneer Press, will also be providing baked goods to downtown Hudson restaurants, as well the San Pedro Café, Pedro’s del Este and Barker’s Bar & Grill.
