ACF & Women Who Really Cook News
ACF Minneapolis Chapter
At last month’s ACF’s Chef Connects held in Minneapolis, the Minneapolis ACF chapter was awarded a chapter achievement award. The award is given based on the chapter’s community involvement and involvement by its chefs at the national level with the ACF. The three-day conference included educational seminars, culinary demonstrations, hands-on workshops and networking opportunities.
May 25 at Chippewa Valley Community College we will be holding practical exams for all levels of ACF Certification. Due to the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago and the Memorial Day holiday, the chapter’s general meeting will be held on Wednesday May 22. For more information, contact Scott Parks at email@example.com.
On May 29, the Minneapolis Chapter will be supporting graduation at Kids Cafe by helping cook for the kids and their parents. “It’s an exciting event and you should swing by sometime and check it out,” says Jeremiah Lanes, who heads up the ACF commitment to the Kids Café at Perspectives Family Center. They are expecting up to 250 people, with parents and families coming out to support the kids. Menu TBD. For more information and for much needed help, contact Jeremiah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Since the regularly scheduled April 11 meeting had to be rescheduled to April 25 due to inclement weather, details for the May meeting were not ready by our press time. Check out the website for updates, www.womenwhoreallycook.com.
