New Products: From Iced Tea to Hot Toddies

TEAZZERS SmartBrew makes brewing fresh iced tea easier for restaurants and convenience stores, with its patent-pending SmartBrew machine which is IOT-enabled with capabilities to communicate information about each brewing event to a cloud database. The machine is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen display, recipe management and freshness timers, all for enhanced category management. It also has BIB sweetener storage underneath the urns to eliminate the trouble and complexities of a typical BIB system.

Smart Flour is bringing the gluten-free dessert experience to a whole new level with Butterscotch Blondie and Chocolate Brownie Dessert Bars made with the company’s proprietary Smart Flour blend containing the ancient grains sorghum, amaranth and teff. These certified gluten-free bars eliminate the need for a second dessert option on the menu thanks to their rich flavor and moist, chewy texture. The Butterscotch Blondie dessert bars feature semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate chips mixed into a buttery, cookie-like bar, while the chocolate brownie option pairs smooth cocoa and semi-sweet chocolate chips for a fudgy dessert. Smart Flour’s Dessert Bars also can be easily served in a sundae, blended into a milk shake or topped with a variety of ice cream flavors.  www.smartflourfoods.com

Golden Blossom Honey, a family-owned and operated honey brand since 1921, has worked with U.S. beekeepers for nearly 90 years to continually source the honey in its Premium Pure U.S. Honey label, a Product of the U.S.A. With U.S. honey prices on the rise, some competing honey brands package their products as a blend of U.S., Argentinian, Canadian, and other imported varietals. Golden Blossom Honey, however, does not.

Since hot teas and toddies are a must in Minnesota’s winters, here’s a Golden Blossom recipe from the company’s website.

Warm Honey Brandy Toddy
Ingredients for 4
1/4 cup Golden Blossom Honey
3 cups water
3-inch piece fresh gingerroot, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup brandy
4 lemons slices for garnish

Combine all ingredients, except lemon slices, in a saucepan. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Pour into four cups or mugs and garnish with lemon slices.
